I’ll never forget my first international trip. I was 16 and a nanny for the summer, accompanying my charge to the resort town of Acapulco. I was amazed by everything… I wanted to see everything, hike everything, talk to every local, walk every street, buy everything that seemed like it had a story. And I was hooked. It took me almost another decade to save enough money to take my first trip to Europe. My sisters were both living in different countries and I was jelly. So I bought a plane ticket and headed to Paris. We had a Let’s Go guide, no cell phones and nothing but a backpack and a Eurail pass. And it was an adventure! (If you’ve never been kicked out of a French bar in Barcelona on the 4th of July for singing the US national anthem, you should try it!) After college and a stint in LA working production on any film I could, I wanted to take my shot at being a flight attendant. The dream was to see the world. And I’m still working on that! Now based in Atlanta and 24 years (and counting) with my airline, along with my hubby, 3 kids, 2 dogs and 1 crabby cat. My whole extended family (6-82) is still ready to meet up any city, any time, anywhere we can. It’s a true family love affair!

I began plotting and saving up for study abroad in middle school. We regularly had international students in our home and that sparked an obsession with language and cultures. I was determined to study abroad as soon as I could. My parents talked me into waiting until university but after that there was no looking back. I arranged an independent study abroad in Montpellier, France and then did ye olde “travel all summer with nothing but a shoulder bag.” (How did I do that?!) I have spent the years since bouncing between the US and a few other countries, namely Belgium for Graduate School (Anthropology – surprise!) and now the UK.
I still fly for a US-based airline but these days most my adventures happen with my family (in various configurations) – and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

I have been a plane geek and traveler aficionado most of my life. I have flown over 8 million miles, equal to about 340 turns around the globe. One would think that by now I’m tired of it…. On the contrary, to me that’s the way to live. I never cease to be marveled when I board a plane in the morning/evening then 8 to 12 hours later you are in the other side of the world. To know, meet and explore new cultures, food, sites and so much more is the essence of life. Sometimes in one week I will be flying to the 4 corners of the globe. I hope you will enjoy what we are sharing through our travels and experiences and better prepare you for the unpredictable moments traveling can bring as well. Ever since I was little I remember being on airplanes, fast forward to now I have been all over the world and then some! Having parents from two completely different continents/cultures has helped shape how I view the world today – big. I have a passion for traveling and exploring new places, and find myself more as I get lost everywhere. Now, combined with a passion for marketing, social media, and living by one of the busiest airports in the world, I’m all over the place. It certainly helps to have a father who works for an airline. Per my lovely co-hosts, I am a multicultural, millennial, airline “brat”.
